DORCAS AROLOYE, STATE PRESIDENT

Hello, my name is Dorcas Aroloye and I will be serving as your MN BPA officer for the 2023-2024 term. I am a senior at Blaine High School and also the captain of the girls' tennis team. When I'm not on the court, I enjoy reading, painting, and cruising around with my friends. This fall marks my third year in BPA and I'm proud to have previously made it to the NLC for presentation management team and placed 2nd, as well as being a state finalist for presentation management individuals and special health care topics presentation. As an officer, I'm excited to bring my goals to the state level by promoting communication between the executive team, and the region/chapter, and by providing opportunities and resources to allow BPA members to siege their desires.


DEAN WANG, EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

Dean Wang is a junior at Rochester Century High School and the MN Executive Vice President. He strives to enforce positive societal change, drive inspiration, and make widespread excellence a habit. Previously, Dean served as the Region 3 President, and attended the NLC, placing fifth in his team event. As a state officer, he plans to incorporate past experiences to create a remarkable and tremendous year in Minnesota. Outside of BPA, Dean is an avid science researcher, clinical volunteer, spontaneous binge reader, and swimmer. 


RITWIK GAUR, VICE PRESIDENT OF MEMBERSHIP OUTREACH

Ritwik Gaur is your 2023-2024 Vice President of Membership Outreach. He is a Junior at Wayzata High School, and this is his third year as a member of Business Professionals of America. He has attended Nationals twice, placing 8th in Banking and Finance and 13th in Financial Math. Outside of BPA, Ritwik is the leader of his Scout troop and captain of his school's Quiz Bowl team. He also enjoys playing the trumpet and hanging out with friends. This year, he is looking forward to creating a collaborative and positive environment for all members of Minnesota BPA.


SILAS MURANGIRI, VICE PRESIDENT OF DEVELOPMENT

I'm Silas Murangiri a basketball enthusiast, binge-watcher, and taco lover. My dream? To become a successful entrepreneur, fueled by my unwavering passion for BPA. You can find me either on the court shooting hoops or completely engrossed in my favorite anime series during my free time. I'm excited to meet everyone and create long-lasting memories.


FAITH YANG, VICE PRESIDENT OF COMMUNICATIONS

Hi all! My name is Faith Yang and I’ll be serving as your 2023-2024 Vice President of Communications. I’m a senior from Tartan Senior High School and a 2nd year BPA student. Outside of BPA, some of the extracurriculars I’m involved in is my schools ASA (Asian Student Alliance) serving as their secretary, STAND president (community service and all inclusive club), and Link crew. Some of my biggest accomplishments from BPA has been receiving the National Ambassador Torch Award and getting to serve as a BPA officer. This year I hope to create a comfortable and involving community with all the regions. I look forward to creating a memorable and meaningful year with my officer team!

STATE OFFICER ELECTIONS

The election of State Officers will be held at the State Leadership Conference.  This election will be for a regular term of office beginning upon the conclusion of SLC until the close of NLC . 

SLC State Officer sessions that will be scheduled include:

  • Voting Delegate Briefing – prior to Opening Session on Thursday evening
  • Campaign Rally – following Opening Session on Thursday evening
  • Caucuses & Voting – Friday evening

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • All components will take place at SLC. 
  • Candidates must be in attendance for entirety of conference.
  • All candidates must be members of the organization and submit all materials by 11:59 pm on February 15, 2024.

If you have a student that is interested, please provide their name and email address to Jackie so that a Dropbox can be set up for them to put the required documents .  You will also have access to facilitate their submissions if needed.  Even if they decide that they are not going to seek office, it will be easier to just delete them from the list.

Candidates will need to submit the following to their designated Dropbox:

  • Candidate's Letter of Application
  • Candidate's Nomination Form (signed by candidate and local advisor)
  • Candidate's Resume (1 page and must include career objective)
  • Candidate’s 100-Word Statement (emailed as word document not pdf or google doc)
  • Chapter Advisor Letter of Recommendation

  • Code of Ethics (signed by candidate)
  • State Officer Reason for Removal Form (signed by candidate)
  • Color Photo PNG (Wallet size or larger)

  • Candidate Checklist (signed by candidate & local advisor)
